Chocolate Chip Biscuits

Enjoy my yummy Chocolate Chip Biscuits—golden brown on the outside, fluffy soft on the inside, and full of melted chocolate. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or any time, these simple biscuits will make you feel good and satisfy your cravings!

Chocolate Chip Biscuits 

1/2-c-butter, cold

2-1/2-c-self-rising flour plus 2-3 TBSP for rolling out dough 

2-TBSP-granulated sugar 

1-c-chilled buttermilk plus 2-3 TBSP to brush on tops before baking

1-c-mini-chocolate chips 

Glaze:

1-c-powdered sugar 

4-5- TBSP heavy cream

1-tsp-vanilla bean paste

-Preheat oven to 450 degrees 

-Combine flour, sugar, chocolate chips and grated butter in a large bowl. 

-Make a well in the flour and add buttermilk and stir about 15 times or until the flour is moistened. 

-Turn out dough onto lightly floured surface and gently knead, adding additional flour until no longer sticky.  Shape into rectangle. 

-Roll or pat dough to 1/2” thickness. 

-Cut into biscuits with a round cutter, mine was 3” diameter. 

-Place biscuits onto a parchment lined baking sheet and brush the tops with buttermilk.  

-Bake 12-15 minutes.  

-Remove and brush with melted butter  

-Combine all the icing ingredients, and then drizzle over the biscuits.  Serve and enjoy!!
