Beef & Broccoli Ramen
One pot, big flavor, and a whole lot of attitude. This Beef and Broccoli Ramen knows who’s in charge.
Beef and Broccoli Ramen
2 packages of Ramen noodles, seasoning packets removed, cooked and drained
2 lbs. thinly sliced steak
About 4 cups of broccoli, chopped
1/4 cup water, for steaming the broccoli
2 tsp Benissimo Toasted Sesame oil
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
FOR THE SAUCE:
1/4 cup Benissimo Olive oil
2 tsp Benissimo Toasted Sesame oil
2 TBSP Rice wine vinegar
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 TBSP Oyster sauce
1 cup low sodium beef broth
1-2 TBSP Sriracha
1-2 TBSP Gochujang
2 TBSP Honey
3-4 cloves of garlic, chopped fine, I use about 1 TBSP jarred garlic
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
2 heaping TBSP Cornstarch, make sure and add this LAST, it prevents it from clumping so bad
Garnish with sesame seed and green onion if desired
Also optional, I sautéed 1/2 onion sliced thin and 1 8 oz container of sliced baby Bella mushrooms on the side, and then mixed them in for the family members that wanted them.
This dish comes together pretty quick, so make sure you have all your ingredients chopped and measured out ready to go.
Place the beef, 2 tsp sesame oil and 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce in a medium bowl and toss to combine. Let this set at room temp while you make the sauce.
Mix all the sauce ingredients together in a bowl, making sure to add the cornstarch last. Whisk thoroughly, then set aside.
When you’re ready to cook, preheat your large cast iron skillet to med/high heat. Add about 1 TBSP of vegetable or canola oil and fry the beef 2-3 minutes. I did my beef in batches to not overcrowd the pan. Once it’s cooked, remove the beef to a plate. Add the broccoli and water and cover and allow to steam 3-4 minutes.
Reduce heat to low/medium low, return the beef to the pan, followed by the cooked ramen noodles and then pour on that yummy sauce. Bring to a slight simmer for 3-5 minutes or until the sauce thickens . Gently toss to coat everything in the sauce. Remove from the heat, garnish, serve and enjoy!!
